ASUS ZC554KL, likely the Zenfone 4 Max, gets its Bluetooth certification
Asus announced the Zenfone 4 series launch in July, months after it was supposed to. There was actually a Zenfone 4 released in 2014, but confusing names aside, a new ASUS phone with model number X00ID recently got certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
The same device was also certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group on Thursday, alongside another ASUS phone model number ZC554KL. Since it has a similar model number to the Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL), it is likely the Zenfone 4 Max.
The Zenfone 3 Max launched with 5.5-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 430 SoC and 4GB RAM, powered by 4100mAh battery. This year’s Zenfone 4 Max will have the same display protected by 2.5D glass, available with the 3GB RAM model as well as having a 4GB RAM version and launching with Android 7.1.1.
The Snapdragon 430 will be swapped out for either a Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 processor. Also rumoured are dual rear cameras. A full Zenfone lineup is expected next month, but are unlikely to go on sale until later.
