Huawei tries to stop rumours about it

Huawei has begun an initiative in Germany to end rumours stemming from the controversy with the US government that risks painting the company in bad light with some users. Currently available smartphones on the market will not be affected by the Trump ban, continuing to run Android and receive monthly security updates based on manufacturer timings. A new website by Huawei aims to respond to rumours with official answers to help ease fears.

Google has announced Android system updates will not be provided to Huawei and has since removed Huawei from the internal Android Q test list. However, with three months reprieve, Huawei will continue to temporarily receive updates. Sources have said EMUI 10 is currently being tested, based on Android 10.0. A complete Google GMS suite is also available for the kernel.

Huawei’s EMUI 10 beta is currently limited to the P30 Pro flagship according to latest reports. The beta does not show much appearance or function changes apart from a desktop icon redesign.
