HTC has a hero planned out in October

HTC is in somewhat of a conundrum, as share prices for the company continue to tumble, with its CEO apologising to all shareholders. One thing is clear; the HTC One M9 did not meet expectations, with the Taiwanese outfit blaming poor sales performance on low demand for high-end Android smartphones. To address the issue, HTC is apparently going to be releasing a new Hero device due in the last quarter of the year.

HTC Butterfly

Not much is known about it as the moment, although it is completely different from what HTC has planned for next year’s flagship. It is most likely going to be a smartphone, of course, and given that HTC will be a Windows 10 partner, we could also see a Windows phone. As a matter of fact, there are actually rumours that suggest a particular One M9 variant with Windows 10 installed on it, though that hardly sounds like a flagship. At this point it is anyone’s guess, and it could also be a new Butterfly 3 for international markets or even a high powered mid-range device for the masses.

It is very difficult to predict the direction in which HTC will likely take for now, although in their best interests, we do hope things pan out.
