honor 8X Brings Innovative Features To The Malaysia Market At A Fairly Affordable Price

The honor 8X is here and it’s the latest in the lineup of honor’s attractively-priced midrange smartphone. It brings an immersive huge display with 91% screen-to-body ratio – one of highest in the market – and some cool new features to the table.

The honor 8X may have the inevitable notch but it also sports a narrow “chin” thanks to its advanced chip-on-film (COF) technology as well as an innovative antenna design. The “borderless” FullView display is not only great for video-watching and game-playing but also for reading texts as it has a Unique Eye Comfort Mode certified by TÜV Rheinland – the first smartphone in the world to do so.

More innovation features come in the form of an “Elevator Mode” that helps the honor 8X reconnects to a 4G network significantly faster than standard phones, and a “safety airbag” that absorbs some of the impact in the event the phone drops to the ground, therefore offering a helpful degree of protection to safeguard your device from the rigours of daily usage.

In the camera department, the honor 8X packs a dual rear cameras setup that features AIS (Artificial Intelligence Stabilisation) super night shooting mode and AI scene recognition capable of detecting not only 22 scene categories but also 500 scenarios in real time. It can also shoot super slow-motion 720p video in 120fps or 240fps. On the front, the AI-equipped selfie camera has AI backlight portrait, night selfie mode and multi-scene recognition.

Rounding up the highlight features are the performance-enhancing GPU Turbo and Kirin 710 chipset, all wrapped up in a glossy glass sandwich body available in black, blue and red. Here’s a look at the list of specs:

  • 6.5-inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 FullView Display (2340 x 1080 pixels)
  • 4GB RAM
  • Octa-core Kirin 710 processor
  • 128GB internal storage memory (expandable up to 400GB via microSD)
  • GPU Turbo

  • Triple card slots – nano-SIM card + nano-SIM card + microSD card
  • Android 8.1 Oreo (with EMUI 8.2)
  • 20MP + 2MP dual rear cameras

At the launch, honor Malaysia has also announced the arrival of the honor Band 3. Their latest generation fitness band is equipped with a 0.91-inch PMOLED display, dynamic heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, water-resistance up to 50 meters and a battery life that can last up to 30 days with normal usage. The RM119-priced smart band will be available in black at Hihonor from 10am, October 15 onwards.

The honor 8X will be retailing at RM949 in blue and black beginning October 12 and honor Malaysia is throwing some pretty sweet deals for early bird buyers. On launch day, those who purchase the honor 8X online at Hihonor as well as Shopee Malaysia will each receive an honor Band 3, a special gift box, an honor 8X Flip Cover and RM100 Hihonor/Shopee voucher.

In addition, honor Malaysia will be having roadshows to showcase the new phone at MyTown Cheras, Prangin Mall Penang and Sutera Mall Johor Bharu over the weekend (October 13-14) where customers who purchase the honor 8X will get to bring home the honor Band 3, a special gift box, an honor 8X Flip Cover, RM50 Hihonor voucher and an honor backpack, worth over RM500 altogether (while stocks last).

And that’s not all as you also stand a chance to get an honor Band 3 and an honor 8X Flip Cover when you purchase the phone in selected honor stores nationwide (limited to 20 units per store).
