Honor 10 Lite Gets Local Launch, Priced Affordably Starting From RM749

Honor gets 2019 rolling as they initiated the first smartphone launch in Malaysia with the Honor 10 Lite – a midrange phone with some decent specs and familiar elements we’ve seen in the latter part of the year past.

First, let’s get to the design. The Honor 10 Lite is a very Honor-looking smartphone with the glossy glass back bathed in the still-trending gradient color scheme. There are four color options on offer – Sapphire Blue, Shiny Red, Sky Blue and Midnight Black but not all of them will be available at launch (more on this later). On the front side, the dominating display is punctuated with a teardrop/dewdrop notch.

Specs-wise, the Honor 10 Lite gets 3GB of RAM and is powered by Kirin 710, the same chipset you’ll find in the Honor 8X. For storage, it offers a choice of either 32GB or 64GB that is further expandable. The Android Pie-running device takes pictures with its 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras setup and selfies with its 24MP front camera loaded with AI enhancement features. It’s 3,400mAh battery is by no means large by today’s standard but it is not too shabby either.

Surely the highlight of this device is the use of GPU Turbo 2.0, the second iteration of the technology introduced last year that Honor claimed will boost graphics processing efficiency by 60% and at the same time reduce the SoC energy consumption by 30%. If you’re a sucker for all things USB-C though, you may be disappointed with its use of micro USB. Below is the rundown of all its key specs in an easier-to-digest format.

  • 6.21-inch Full HD+ display (2340 x 1080 pixels)
  • 3GB RAM
  • Octa-core Kirin 970 processor
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage memory (expandable up to 512GB)
  • Dual SIM
  • GPU Turbo 2.0
  • Rear fingerprint sensor
  • Android 9.0 Pie (with EMUI 9.0)
  • 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras
  • 25MP front camera
  • 3,400mAh battery

The Honor 10 Lite will cost you RM749 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model in Sky Blue and Midnight Black but you will be able to get one at a special one-day only price of RM699 when you make your purchase at hihonor.com as well as Honor Malaysia’s official Lazada e-store beginning 10am tomorrow (January 9). Order one before 1pm to get the phone delivered to you on the same day via a special express delivery service (only limited to the first 500 deliveries in Klang Valley).

The 3GB RAM + 64GB storage model in Shiny Red and Sapphire Blue gets a recommended retail price of RM799 but will only be available at a later date that is yet to be announced.
