The vivo V11i Takes Surprisingly Good Night Photos With The Help Of AI

The vivo V11i was announced alongside the vivo V11 in Malaysia last month. Being the more affordable option, the V11i has slightly more modest specs and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display one on the pricier V11. However, the V11i possesses a higher-resolution dual rear cameras (16MP + 5MP), and like the one on the V11, is fully AI-powered.

That means the camera on V11i comes with all the helpful AI features that make the V11 an interesting and highly-capable shooter (you can read our previous post where we detailed what the V11’s camera can do). There’s AI Backlight HDR that helps address one of the toughest shooting conditions which is shooting in backlight; AI Low Light Mode which captures up to six images and combines them into one for more details and less noise in dark environment; AI Portrait Framing uses Artificial Intelligence to guide users towards getting the perfect angle sweet spot and AI Scene Recognition that automatically does all the colors and settings adjustment for you based on your shooting subjects.

On a recent night out we took the V11i out for a spin to see how it fares in nighttime shooting with the aid of AI Low Light Mode and the results turn out to be pretty impressive, considering smartphones almost always struggle in this area. The photos have noticeably less noise than a typical nighttime smartphone. Plenty of details are preserved too even while in the dark. All the photos taken were not edited in any capacity.

Aside from the dual rear cameras, the V11i packs a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with one of the tiniest notches in the market, 4GB RAM, generous 128GB onboard storage and a 25MP front selfie camera in a premium-looking glass body.
