The honor 6X made its debut here in Malaysia earlier this year and it is the latest smartphone from honor that features a dual-rear camera system. Retailing at the starting price of RM1,199, it presents a very good choice for those looking for an affordable smartphone with the very best in camera technology.

For all the talk about the camera, the honor 6X is otherwise a very capable device with plenty of useful features, some you might not even know about or aware of. To help you get the most of your honor 6X, here are just some of its multitude of features that we are sure you will find very handy (and who knows, be of benefit for those contemplating getting the honor 6X too)

  1. Blur your photos

Of course, we have to talk about the camera first and foremost. The use of dual camera means that you will be able to capture those professional-looking “bokeh shots” with blurred background. To do that with your honor 6X, choose the Wide Aperture Mode (which appears at the top as a camera shutter icon when you launch the camera app) and make sure that your intended subject to be blurred is about 2 meters away from the camera. Once a shot is taken, you can apply Wide Aperture effects to it in the gallery.

  1. For avid readers

Find your eyes strained from all the in-the-dark browsing/video-watching/game-playing on your phone just before bedtime? We know, it’s not good for our eyes but we couldn’t help it either! Fret not though as the honor 6X comes with a BlueLight feature that will help ease our eyes and make staring at the screen in the dark a more comfortable and less-strenuous affair with a warmer light. To activate it, head over to Settings -> Display -> turn on Eye Comfort mode. You can even set a preferred time for the feature to be automatically activated if you are the forgetful type.

  1. Sharing is caring

The honor 6X has some nifty WiFi features built-in.  Among them is the WiFi repeater function that lets you share your WiFi network (when it is turned into a WiFi hotspot) with other users without the need to reveal the password. What’s more, the function can also strengthen the WiFi signal coverage in a user’s household by enhancing coverage in parts of the house where the signal is poor, so you will always stay connected.

  1. Add a guest account

Have you ever reluctantly hand over your smartphone to a person who asked to use it (to contact someone for example) because we have lots of confidential information in it that we rather not others to see? It’s all too common and being the nice people that we are, we’ll rather not say no and go through the silence unease. With the honor 6X, worry no more of such occurrence as you can activate Guest Mode whenever you need to let other people use your phone. Your apps, personal messages, photos and downloads will not be shown in the Guest Mode so rest assured no sensitive information will be revealed, To start, go to Settings -> Users -> Add Guest

  1. Shutting off temporarily

There are times when we don’t need any distractions from our phone, like during a meeting or movie session in the cinema hall. The honor 6X makes it super easy to shut out all of the unwanted prompts and interruptions with its Flip-to-Mute feature. Like its name suggests, just flip over your honor 6X and place it face down and it will automatically mute all sounds and vibrations from notifications and calls. To return it to its normal state, simply flip it back over. No button pressing needed. It’s that easy and effortless.
