Facebook users can now remove advertisement trackers

In an unusual move, Facebook is allowing its users to control what advertisements they want or do not want to see on their feed. This can be done through the Off-Facebook Activity feature which shows users a summary of activities generated from websites and apps.

Users can then choose to view information generated or disconnect it from their account. As Facebook relies on advertising, the move will impact the business. The company always had issues with user privacy as it has been heavily fined for violations.

For the time being, the Off-Facebook Activity feature is being rolled out in Spain, Ireland and South Korea. A global release will be rolled out slowly.
