Exclusive offline stores to be opened by Realme

Realme got into the Indian smartphone market as an OPPO offshoot last year, its mid-range phones also launched in Indonesia and Vietnam, with plans to grow bigger and open offline stores.

Madhav Sheth, company CEO, disclosed plans to open exclusive stores in India for a hands-on experience on Realme devices, including accessories and smartphones, with plans for openings in the second half of the year.

Realme-branded phones are currently available offline at partner stores, initially only from Reliance but now with more collaborations with other multi-brand retail stores in Indian cities.

Production is slated to be doubled thanks to a new factory to be opened in Greater Nodia. One already exists there, but output is planned to increase to 60-80 million smartphones per annum. New models will also be announced this year.

Counterpoint Research mentioned in Q4 2018 that Realme has a 8% market share. Once OPPO’s sub-brand, it’s now an independent company.
