Entry level Nokia Lumia 620 to have 4.7-inch screen

Looks like Nokia is experimenting with much larger displays, at least according to specs released online. Despite the 4.7-inch screen – the largest yet for a Lumia – the 625 is set to be a low-end, entry-level Lumia, according to sources who told the Verge.

The screen has a resolution of 800×480 pixels, not overly impressive, however Nokia’s end game here is to have a lower priced Lumia to appeal Windows Phone to customers. And the phone is expected to launch in China by the end of a month 1,999 yuans (estimated RM1040).

As the sequel to the Lumia 620, the 625 is set to come with a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB memory, and a 5-megapixel camera packed inside a unibody design. The device is also expected to support 4G LTE, in addition to GSM and 3G networks.

With 13.3 percent of the Windows phone pie, the Lumia 520 is the company’s most popular device, according to data from Adduplex. The company‚Äôs move to secure the low-end appears to be paying off, with the Lumia 620 taking 9.6 percent and the Lumia 710 also taking 9.6 percent.

The Lumia 625 is expected to show up on AT&T’s GSM network.
