DJI’s Smallest Drone, The Mavic Mini, Is Now Available For Preorder In Malaysia From RM1,599

DJI unveiled their smallest consumer drone to date to the world last week and you don’t have to wait long to get your hands on one as the Mavic Mini has arrived in Malaysia, which is the first market in Southeast Asia to get it.

The Mavic Mini is not only DJI’s smallest but also lightest drone, tipping the scale at only 249g. It is also DJI’s first-ever drone to weigh below 250g, the benchmark weight in which aviation regulators around the world consider to be the safest category for drone flight. This means you will be able to fly the Mavic Mini a lot more areas and not having to worry about strict regulations.

The palm-sized drone is able to be up in the air for up to 30 minutes, and capture 2.7K videos at 30fps second as well as 1080p videos at 60fps with the support of a three-axis motorised gimbal for smooth footage. It uses GPS receivers and downward visual sensors to enable precise hovering, stable flying and accurate landing in outdoor and indoor environments. On top of that, you will also be able to capture 12MP photographs using its 1/2.3-inch sensor. It comes included with a dedicated remote controller that is able to maintain an HD, low-latency video feed at a distance of up to 4km.

DJI has created a new app specifically for the Mavic Mini which features a more intuitive design and simpler overall controls to make the whole flying and content capturing experience easier and more enjoyable. Drone pilots can take advantage of the three main modes – Position (P) mode, Sport (S) mode and CineSmooth (C) mode – with each catering to their flying experience and needs. The Mavic Mini is able to do perform a number of manoeuvres in the air such as Rocket, Circle, Drone and Helix to create all kinds of stunning cinematic content. In addition, pilots can also choose from several pre-programmed flight manoeuvres known as Quickshots. For beginner pilots, there will also be dedicated tutorials and pre-set editing templates within the app.

The Mavic Mini will retail for RM1,599 which comes in the standard package that also includes a remote controller, one battery and extra propellers. There will also be a Mavic Mini Fly More Combo package that additionally offers a 360° Propeller Cage, Two-Way charging Hub, two additional batteries, three sets of extra propellers as well as a carrying case on top of all the things in the standard package. All the extra stuffs will cost RM1,999.

Pre-order is now available at VSTECS’ resellers and DJI authorised retailers nationwide, and the Mavic Mini will be shipping to customers beginning mid-November 2019. Separately, the accessories will only be available for pre-order at the end of the month. VSTECS, as a DJI Recommended Service Center, will provide professional aftersales and repair services for customers in Malaysia. You can find more about it here.
