Sony Ericsson K750
by Jonathan Cheah (editor@mobile88.com)
London, 02 March 2005 – The Sony Ericsson K750 is a 2 Megapixel imaging phone that captures sharp and clear pictures for printing, sharing and viewing. This phone also delivers fast, open connectivity and contains generous amounts of memory. This is combined with a suite of business, entertainment and communication features.
“Nowadays 65% of Sony Ericsson’s consumers are choosing phones with cameras in them, which shows that there is significant demand for phones to be used as imaging tools,” says Jan Wareby, Corporate Executive, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing of Sony Ericsson. “What’s more we are successfully applying Sony’s imaging expertise to the development of camera phones, a key example of this being the S700, which is receiving awards for its imaging capabilities time after time. The K750 builds on this, and given the enthusiastic response to our imaging products we have already received from the market, we fully expect it to be an outright winner.”
Sony Ericsson has built upon the success of last year’s S700. The K750 features digital camera specifications such as Autofocus, 4x digital zoom, red eye reduction and an intuitive user interface. The camera operates horizontally for stable, well framed shots. It is possible to take pictures in the dark from several meters away if used with the Sony Ericsson PhoneFlash MXE-60.
The phone also boasts Bluetooth and Infrared, plus storage on a Memory Stick Duo. A USB cable comes with the phone and images can be sent wirelessly to a Bluetooth printer. With the Bluetooth Media Centre MMV-200, the K750 can be used to view pictures and videos on a TV screen and easily share them with friends and family in a fun and entertaining way.
The K750 has 32MBs of internal memory, which can hold about 100 full size pictures and an external memory slot which accepts up to 2GBs of Memory Stick Duo, or around 6,000 shots. A 64MB Memory Stick Duo is supplied with the phone.
A 3D Java games engine is in the phone, and an integrated MP3 player and FM radio provide music and entertainment. Software such as the VideoDJ and PhotoDJ allow users to tweak their files, while PlayNow enables users to download fresh new music tones direct to their phone. The K750 is available in black and silver and will be on sale from Q2.
