ASUS To Debut Their First Tablet In Zen Series – The ZenPad?

The Zen series of products has been and still is a very popular one among ASUS fans. So after the ZenBook, ZenFone and ZenWatch, what’s next? If fresh rumors are true, do expect the ZenPad to appear very soon.

The ZenPad will be the first tablet under the Zen series and much like the Zenfone series, there will be more than one variant (read: a lot). The first iterations are said to come in two – a 7-inch variant and its 8-inch larger sibling with the former further divided into two versions, Wi-Fi only (Z170C) and 3G (Z170CG).

You will be disappointed if you expect it to pack some flagship hardware as the 7-inch ZenPad is said to come with an IPS screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, 1GB RAM, quad-core 1GHz 64-bit Intel Atom X3 processor, 8GB/16GB expandable storage, 2MP rear camera coupled with its front VGA counterpart and last but not least a 3,950mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the 8-inch ZenPad is loaded with better spec such as 2084 x 1536 resolution display, 2GB RAM, either Intel Z3560 or Intel Z3530 chipsets and an internal storage of 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB.

Pricing-wise, the 7-inch ZenPad reportedly costs RUB 7,990 (around RM570) for the Wi-Fi only model and RUB 8,990 (around RM640) for the 3G model. No pricing info for the 8-inch ZenPad was disclosed however.

Keep your eyes out for them in June as they may just make their world debuts at Computex 2015 in Taiwan next month.
