A new Redmi Note 7 video is posted

Xiaomi released the first smartphone of its new independent brand, Redmi, a few days ago. Described as “tough” and dubbed “little King Kong” internally, some videos have tried to show how strong the device really is. A new video shows off the Redmi Note 7 being used as a chopping board for various fruits and vegetables to be chopped up, and remained intact.

The smartphone packs Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, which Corning says it’s four times more affordable than competing glass while retaining the properties, clarity and sensitivity of Gorilla Glass. The affordability is what Lei Jun says allows the Redmi Note 7 to support the budget plan.

The smartphone features a 6.3-inch waterdrop screen, the first for the Redmi Rice series and for Xiaomi as a whole. The display is at 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 450 unit brightness, 84% NTSC colour gamut, stepless colour temperature adjustment, luminous screen, eye protection and so forth. The Redmi Note 7’s internals include a fully-optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 clocked at 2.2GHz,  and 4000mAh graphite negative anode battery with QC 4 standard. The official introduction says an additional 10 yuan ($1.47) gets you the 18W Xiaomi USB fast charger that gives a full charge in 113 minutes.
