hmm.. call back require extra $0.12 to cover the cost to call yr mobile. If use 1800873535 from fixline is not charge.

Direct call to toll free no. 1800873535 : fixed line $0.15 n mobile at $0.17,
via missed callback TF no 1800873636 : fixed line $0.24 n mobile at $0.25.
so the diff. of +/-$0.09 per minute is just enough to cover the cost of server to call my mobile. Just $0.086 per minute inter-operator connection fee (TM to celcos).

good for you. They offer demo set to you?
Yeah, they have dilemma in pushing CDMA. They don't know how to sell and market it.

Yeah... it was demo. But I rather not to use it. It makes me feel like I'm still in 70's or 80's. So outdated!
If they know how to market it effectively, I guess my life won't be that dumb, but more attractive and colorful.

oh, I hv just terminate the services recently..
Few reasons :- 1) Bad pricing - monthly access fee is needed, 2) Semi Mobility - cant make call from area non registered, 3) Bad handoff - no continous coverage for handoff, usually my call will be cut while driving, 4) Cheapo handset, 5) Bad coverage - no indoor coverage, still like wireless local loop application,
Gosh, Y TM make a bad impression on a good technology?

Why? That is because Malaysian are GSM supporters. That is why.
If there are two CDMA operators in this country, the situation might be very different.

But look at most East Asia countries except Japan & Korea, mostly only has 1 CDMA provider, except India which is regional circle base. No one single country has those stupid CDMA strategy like Malaysia. Even Indonesia CDMA is catching up fast fast!

Does Malaysia have CDMA 2000 1X EV-DO Rev yet? It's better than HSDPA from what I've heard from my overseas friends in Korea and NZ.

HSDPA relies on WCDMA network while EV-DO relies CDMA network. Obviously EV-DO is much more better than HSDPA when you compare both in terms of speed and performance. Technological wise, EV-DO system is much more superior than HSDPA eventhough both are also CDMA system.
For HSDPA, it is basically UMTS release 5 onwards, which is capable to support speeds ranging from 1.8 Mbps up to 14.4 Mbps, indicated by the different Category numbers that uses different modulation scheme. Typical modulation scheme for HSPDA network up to 3.6 Mbps is QPSK in constrast to 8PSK, a similar scheme used for EDGE networks.
CDMA based data network progresses faster than HSDPA when it is deployed. Current EV-DO Rev A supports up to 3.1 Mbps down link data rates and up to 1 Mbps for uplink, and is already available at many countries and regions that make CDMA their dominant standard for mobile telephony. In comparison, most HSDPA networks are capable for only 1.8 Mbps "live traffic" for downlink and up to 384 kbps for uplink.
But for a longer deployment and future prospects, more and more telecommunication companies begin to realize the potential of OFDM to further extend the limitation of single carrier CDMA system currently in used. HSOPA is the GSM version of packet data network that uses OFDM while UMB is the competitive variant for CDMA based network. WiMax is another application that utilizes OFDM, rather than CDMA.

Then we shall see which telcos run faster to cover it... My guess is DIGi, Celcom and Maxis last...

Still remember the posting on 19 December 2006? hehe...
Mr levinx's guess is merely a poor thing. On my recent visit to Jusco Equine Park I discovered Maxis has installed indoor transmitter to extend its GSM network inside the department store. Digi's coverage is still the worst, never improved and for most of the time you get no signal, and your phone keep searching for network. Poor thing.
Well, I still managed to get 1 to 2 bars for MY CELCOM at lower ground level inside the department store. Thanks to Maxis low power in-building transmitter which also broadcasts on 900 MHz band, Celcom's users enjoy a little bit benefits and the rather weak Celcom GSM signals get to amplify a bit more from power of the interfered signals. There are occasions received Celcom GSM signal reaches 4 out of 6 bars, especially when you move right near under the Maxis picocell antenna.
So far no problem to make and receive calls on my Celcom mobile line while roaming inside the store. There is still no 3G services available for both Maxis and Celcom at the lower ground level area inside the store.
