I think DiGi put their bet on EDGE coverage to make sure their wireless
broadband be able to access from anywhere ... for EDGE, far cheaper in
term of investment and for other 2 telco, they may not be able to
expand their 3G coverage fast enough due to extremely high cost.
And DiGi and see what happen first only decided whether they need implement 3G.
For sure 3G(wireless broadband) will replace GSM but how long it take is a big question.

how far is it....well, actually it not that far..Now malaysian are starting to realize the use of 3GSM network that can make video-call..
and the goverment had announced to offer 2 more 3G licence for the player in the market so that 3G would be competitive and soon we will see price war again...But, this time is 3G...

The true is, DiGi themself won't suffer anything but those people who taking DiGi subscription will.

anyway, 3G only part of the telco bussiness.. so far only fews use 3G.. so better for digi to focus on their 2g/2.5g/2.75g first..
