The Valencia2 Y100 Pro’s camera specs read a Sony-made 13MP rear shooter and a 8MP front counterpart. Before we touch on that, here’s a quick overview of the camera interface.
As you can see, the viewfinder is quite crowded with many icons and shortcuts scattered around. Also, there is a thick black bar at the top that we feel should have been done without to give as much screen estate as possible to the viewfinder. All the now-common camera features are there – Panorama, Beauty Face and Motion Track but there is one that we find very interesting as it slightly resembles one of Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus most-talked about feature –Live Photo.
Called Live Photo mode, basically what it does is that the camera will automatically capture a few seconds’ worth of moving images even before you hit the shutter button. Think of it as a GIF image that will bring your usually static shots to life. Of course, it is not as sophisticated as the one on the new iPhones but it is nevertheless a very cool feature to have.
The camera itself does a serviceable job in taking decent-looking photos in bright light conditions though the colors appear to be a little bit bland. It suffers in dark and dim environment, with shots turn out to contain a high level of noise. The night mode doesn’t help too much either. Besides that, close-up shots are not that great either it fails to capture enough details. As for the 8MP front-facing camera, you selfies will be well taken care of.
Here are sample shots taken using the Valencia2 Y100 Pro.
