In this day and age when almost everyone is using a touchscreen smartphone, is one with a physical keypad still cut it? It certainly is, judging by BlackBerry’s attempt to continue releasing its once-desirable smartphones with QWERTY keyboard. If anything, it surely appeals to those not able to make a successful transition to full touchscreen smartphones, or those having a tinge of nostalgia, or just massive BlackBerry fans even though the company is not doing so well now.
The BlackBerry Q5 is a QWERTY-touchscreen combo smartphone first announced by the Canadian company back in May 14 earlier this year and go on sale a month later. It is the third smartphone after the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 to run on the new BlackBerry 10 operating system. While the Z10 is a full touchscreen device and the BlackBerry Q10 is a premium QWERTY-touchscreen combo smartphone, the Q5 is regarded as a cheaper and budget version of the Q10.
Now that we got the Q5 on our hands, let’s see how this little device fare.
