Introduction / Preview : T-Mobile Sidekick LX T-Mobile USA announced the Sidekick LX, a new high-end model in the Sidekick product line. The Sidekick LX features the same iconic swivel screen as previous Sidekicks, but the overall device is slimmer than previous models. The Sidekick LX also has an upgraded 3.0" WQVGA (400x240 pixel) resolution screen with Sharp Aquos high-definition LCD technology, a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, and a microSD card slot for expanded memory. The Sidekick LX will ship with a 128MB microSD card, but can support cards as large as 4GB. The Sidekick LX will sport quad-band GSM support, with data coming across T-Mobile,s EDGE network.
The T-Mobile Sidekick LX has several other enhancements, including an upgraded web browser with improved Java support. Also added are Mood lights, which the user can customize for various alerts such as a new SMS, MMS, IM, or email. The Sidekick LX also maintains the usual set of Sidekick features, which includes built-in IM clients for AOL Instant Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger. Email (both POP3 and IMAP), a music player, and MySpace Mobile client are available, as well.
