The Philips 855’s integrated VGA camera makes it easy to take photos and add them to MMS (Multimedia Messaging Services) messages in just a few clicks. Voice messages can also be attached using the 855’s FotoTalk feature, making it possible to send ‘talking postcards’ to people.
Captured images can also be shared with an audience, thanks to Philips’ unique TV SlideShow feature. When connected to a TV using the optional TV Link accessory, TV SlideShow can run both pre-ed slideshow sequences, or individual images ed one-by-one from the phone.
Images can also be displayed on the phone’s own high resolution, high contrast 128x160 TFT screen built into the Philips 855’s 180º opening clamshell design. The outer side of the clamshell also incorporates an extra color sub-display to show call information when the phone is closed.
Snap, send and share – even in the dark! The Philips 855’s sophisticated digital imaging sensor also makes it possible to snap pictures in the dark without a flash, using the Night Mode function. With just two clicks, a moment can be easily captured. And with a built-in 2x and 4x digital zoom function, the 855 takes clear, close-ups every time.
Captured images can be creatively edited on the phone itself using the camera’s built-in Creative Photo Editor software. Images can be easily transformed with color effects, sepia tones, grayscale images or negative colors. It then takes just a few clicks to attach the finished image to an MMS message and send it.
The Philips 855 also features a huge 7MB memory, big enough to store as many as 1,000 pictures of precious memories for instant recall whenever you want to view them or share them. The 855 also offers a wide ion of embedded pictures to use as a starter kit for MMS messages and wallpaper backgrounds.
See who is calling Sending and sharing pictures isn’t the only way to make use of images with the Philips 855. Pictures of family, friends and regular callers can be attached to numbers in the phonebook using the FotoCall feature. If someone calls from a number stored in phonebook, and there is a picture attached the number entry, that image will be displayed on the 855’s screen.
Games and multimedia possibilities The new Philips 855 tri-band mobile phone includes the Java™ 2.0 engine, giving the phone a flexible platform for downloading multimedia applications, such as the wide range of colorful, Java-based games available. Philips 855 owners will also be able to access a wide range of services using the phone’s WAP browser (service availability depends on operator). Polyphonic ringer tones and melodies can be downloaded so users can personalize their phones even further.
Unique slim and light design The Philips 855’s high quality clamshell design is completed by a very compact size of only 77cc and pocketable weight of 91g. This exciting new phone will be available in a choice of distinguished colors including Harmony Silver, Relaxing Blue, Sensorial Black and Natural White. Operating times are up to four hours’ talk time and up to 400 hours - more than 16 days - standby time.
