LG C2500 Review
By Nelson Thing

Physic and keypad
The size of c2500 is quite small, can be easily held by girl or man. Case is made of the plastic and quite resist to the scratch, but not the screen area. It is advice to put a screen protector if you afraid to scratch the screen.

Feeling of pressing is ok, can be better as the feedback a bit hard after you press it. It is weird that the d-pad is only 4 way, you couldn't press the middle button as confirm or enter key.
Display
As it is aimed for the budget consumer section, display is not as good as those higher end handphone like LG G262.
But still it provides a good and well contrast display. While brightness is a bit too much, you can adjust the contrast
level.
Screen resolution is at 128 x 110, quite low as compare to most of the color phone offered by Nokia, SonyEricsson,
Samsung and others. As it is not the standard 128x128 that most other low end handphone out there, you got to cut
the wallpaper properly in order to best fit the screen resolution,
Menu
Menu are in standard 3x3 icon navigation, pretty standard for browsing through the menu. There is some inconvenient here at some of the menu navigation - For e.g. File Manager, Left Option button is Option, while right option button is Back, you just couldn't
press the left button to straight away enter the File Manager but press the left bring you to see Open, create
Folder and format. Yup, you read it right, you can format it. While it have confirm question after u press
format, it is such a dangerous thing as user may press the button too fast and overlooks it. LG
should utilise the Hang up button as back instead of right option button. Currently hang up button will bring
you back to the main screen straight away.
My suggestion, Left option button is open straight away, while right option button provide options, just
to prevent user press the format accidentally while maintain fast access to inner menu.
Hang up button should act as back button instead of back to main screen, while long press the hang up can back
to main screen, just my point.
Connectivity
Some people may feel disappointed on this as it doesn't provide bluetooth nor infra-red connection.
It makes sense that it is aim for the budget people. While it doesn't has those wireless connectivity but USB
connection makes the MASS STORAGE as well as charge the handphone will do the job very well.
Transfer file is really an easy job at C2500, just plug in the USB cable, a message will be prompted out asking for either
MASS Storage or COMM port connection. Comm port is for advance user to flash their handphone firmware while
mass storage is let the handphone act as thumb drive (USB drive). By doing so, you can simply drag any file into
your handphone. After connect using mass storage, a extra drive will be appeared at My Computer (If you using
WinXP as it recognize it straight away). Just drag your mp3 file into the mp3 folder and other file into custom
folder, just to make thing tidy. Bear in mind, while in either mode, you couldn't use your handphone as it will
be by itself in order to enter the mode.
MP3, Tone and radio
Listening thru the build in speaker is quite comfortable. Sound is quite loud, but not up to SonyEricsson Z550,
that one is extremely loud I could say =D. While the midi tone is really loud, I suggest to set it as Loud profile
ringtone as to avoid miss call. Mp3 and midi both can be set as Ringtone and Alarm tone, while message tone you got
to get along with the build in tone, not too many. As for the keypad tone, there is one useful human voice tone which may
be helpful for those people who have difficulty in small font reading.

For those who seeking for a radio on their handphone need not worry. C2500 bundle with a FM radio. Kind of
convenient for those who feel bored with their mp3 and can simply shift to listen to FM radio. As usual, headset
is used to act as the antenna.
There is the voice recorder for this handphone, nice to have.
Camera and Video
It is strange if I tell you that LG didn't have camera with color handphone nowadays. Don't worry, it is there.. though not a
mega pixel but rather a VGA camera. It is understandable that C2500 is for budget user, that's why VGA camera
is for fun to take photo or to put as caller photo. But don't worry about the quality, it is on par with SonyEricsson K700i
that I have. In fact, better while in close up shooting. I have taken some sample photos of that.
While there is no macro mode for this kind of budget phone, the word is blur but still readable on the sample photo that I had
taken, a thumb up for this.

There are various resolution of photo can be taken. Namely 128x128, 160x120, 320x240, 640x480 with the quality selection
between Low, Normal and High. Frames can be added into the photo while u shooting them. For those who like to
do fine tuning on photo setting, there are different effect, Black & White, Sepia, Negative, B & W negative, etc and also
White balance, EV value, night mode, banding and enough for you to spare some time on it.
Strange enough, I couldn't find a way to shoot video with C2500. There is simply on such option.
Message, MMS
C2500 allow for a very long sms typing, up to 1224 characters and support for MMS. Creating MMS in C2500 is easy, just type your message, insert attachment (pictures, midi/tones), set recipients, there you go.
Voice and Network
The signal reception is average. While using the handphone, you need to find a good position to put your ear
near to the speaker hole, else you may hardly hear what the other party says. This is because the speaker hole
is not located at the middle of the top part of headset, but slightly right. People may tend to put the middle
of the headset near the ear, then you may find yourself in trouble in listening people talking.

Java and Games
Support for java is a standard for handphone nowadays. There are three games bundle, namely, F1Race, snake and
chopter. Enough for some game enthusiast to kill their time. You can add new java games or application to your like,
by using USB cable and transfer the file into the handphone.
Battery
I really like the USB charging capability, as you can use your notebook or pc to charge it. Charging through PC USB take about 2 hour to finish. While charging, you just have to ignore the enter mode question, and it will go off by itself. It is to make sure that u still can use your handphone to receive or make call while charging. Just don't enter any mode if you just need to charge it.
There is bundle Power to mini-USB cable which you can use to charge C2500 by using home wall power socket. It takes me about 1.5 hours in order to fully charge the handphone, slightly in shorter time compare to using PC USB power.
With more than 4 days of continues usage, mp3 listening, menu navigating, C2500 is amazing in this area. Compare to some
other color handphone, 1-2 days is pretty standard, C2500 really give a big bang on the bucks that you pay for its long lasting
battery.
Pros:
60MB to spare for USB storage and mp3
Average size, not too big, not too small
FM radio, mp3 player, voice recorder
Rich in camera setting
Cons:
4-way of D-pad, no confirm press while pushing down
No video recording
No bluetooth nor infra-red
VGA camera
