Introduction
Do you still remember when is the time you own your first mobile phone? 30 years old? 25 years old? 20 years old? How about 3 years old?

Huh?

This time I am going to share with you what is called a CARE phone that is intended to focus on 3-8 years old children.

Packaging and bundle
The manufacturer is trying to catch the kids' eye, that's why The box of iCare is very colourful. Open up the box, is the handset, a charger, a small carrying bag for kids and most importantly the user manual. Why am I saying like this? Please allow me to explain it later on.

Physics and Keypad
In order to suit for the extra ordinary situation usage. And in order to let our kids to really have fun with this "toy". The manufacturer use hard and thick plastic to make iCare. And it is in Teddy Bear shape in order to catch children eye.

It is kind of feeling weird when I say Keypad for iCare as it actually doesn't have any keypad at all. All iCare has is the 4 most commonly use button, Calling/Hangup button and SOS button, that's it.

Menu and User-friendliness
iCare doesn't own any display, hence no menu can be viewed as well. There are 4 most commonly use button used to called out to 4 predefine party. Namely daddy, mummy, friend and teacher. But how am I going to set the contact no into it for us to call out? Here come the important role that user manual play now.

Since iCare doesn't have any keypad for us to enter number. The only way to do the setting is going thru the sms. Just follow the instruction stated in user manual, by sending the sms to the iCare, you are able to set the 4 party contact no into it. By sending the sms to iCare, you are able to customize the SOS no which should used for kids to call for somebody in case of emergency.

This is useful for kids, as it is design to be more water spill resistant, no keypad/gap is exist. Hence it is more tough and shock resistant and suitable for active kids. The important idea of iCare is that, whenever kids wanna give call to mum, what he/she need to do is to press the mum logo button, that's it. Same happen to daddy, friend or teacher button. Of course, you can set other like grandpa or grandma contact no as friend/teacher calling.

Voice Quality and Usage
The first thing I notice was the clear and sensitive mic this phone have. It is understandable as one of the main usage is for parent to call to iCare to know the situation nearby their child. There is the way for parent to call to iCare without letting iCare ring and the speaker will be turn into mute mode with only the mic switch on. Hence surveillance can be done thru iCare to observe kid's surrounding area situation.

One healthy concern may be brought up by parent, that's the SAR value this handphone may produce. Did I tell you that one of the selling point of iCare is it's very low SAR value at 0.162 w/kg?

Conclusion
iCare is targeted to those age ranging from 3-8 years, and I believe there is the market need for this, though not that big. Caring daddy and mum sometimes really need to know what really happen to their kids, especially after seeing those child-abuse case happened in our social.

How about kid above 8 years old? I think normal handphone like 3310/8210 is working fine with them, they are smart enough to use it normally like us. Yup, don't surprise while you see those 8 years old kids keep calling their daddy or mummy with their mobile handphone.
