It still remains distinctively BlackBerry, and comes with its physical backlit QWERTY keyboard and trackpad. It also comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen unfortunately displaying 640x480 pixels (VGA) but BlackBerry says the device comes with Liquid Graphics technology.
Trust the luxury car maker to limit its availability and slap on a (estimated) $2000 USD price point.
Looks aside, the P’9981 runs on 1.2GHz processor, and 768MB RAM for performance. There is 8GB internal memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB. It also supports the dual band WiFi, HSDPA 14.4Mbps and Near Field Communication (NFC).
On the camera, it is capable of capturing up to 5 megapixels and 720p HD video recording. It has 4x digital zoom and flash. For the camera software, it has face detection, image stabilisation, geotagging and scene modes.
No BBX on the device, it runs on the Blackberry 7 OS modified with Porsche Design UI. It comes with new features like Wikitude World Browser application that supports augmented reality and helps you to find, identify, access and forward relevant information.
