Motorola H550 ReviewBy Loh Ving Sung| | With good audio quality and ergonomically designed features, the H550 is Motorola’s slim and long Bluetooth device.
The headset is covered in sliver metal and plastics as with the buttons. Also, the device is long and slim which extends slightly farther to your cheek. The protruding speaker is somewhat more elongated and feels like it was ergonomically designed to fit the earlobe- and it does so comfortably.
The form factor looks basically like your typical Bluetooth headset with the volume controls on the right/left side of the headset. The device is comfortable to wear over a long period of time, and the plastic hook does not chafe the top of your ear.

The H550 incoming call quality is quite decent when paired to Motorola KRZR K3, but on the other hand outgoing call quality suffers, and had a scratchy sound to it. But as mentioned before it is very much functional and has a decent sound quality which extends to music files as well.
Additionally, much of the headsets’ functionality is controlled by the central button. When the button is pushed down it allows calls to be taken and when it is flicked downwards the headset is activated. The H550’s physical simplicity is a welcome addition, especially for entry level users.
The sound quality coming from the device isn’t great but is decent enough, seeing that it lacks noise-cancelling. It seems to perform well even under maximum volume, so feel free to turn it up to block out noise (at least on one side of your hearing).

Testing has shown that other brands of phone may be able to receive calls and make calls but is unable to listen to the paired phone’s music files-as for compatibility check Motorola’s official website before purchasing the H550.
Furthermore, the exposed charger port invites dust, dirt and random coffee spills. Motorola might want to look at covering up with a plastic pop cover like their H800 headset.
The H550 is recommended because of the snug fit, ergonomics and lightweight design. However, at RM 229 the H550 is pricey for an average looking Bluetooth headset as well as rather normal sound quality.
